• CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE
Andrew T. Boyle
Chairman, Board of Directors:

Why is MMTA
important? In the trucking industry, what you don't know can
hurt you - especially in Massachusetts. We operate in a dynamic
environment of regulatory change, equipment evolution and
technological advancement. Whether you're a motor carrier, a
leasing company, a private fleet or an industry supplier, failure to
stay current on these issues can dramatically affect your ability to
do business.
Trucking is the predominant mode of
cargo transport in Massachusetts - 93% of goods are delivered by
truck. Furthermore, the trucking industry provides roughly
200,000 jobs in our state. Given the scale of our industry,
your input is critical when it comes to government affairs. MMTA advocates common sense solutions to the complex regulatory
issues we face every day.
Highway safety is a shared responsibility. The Association
partners with enforcement agencies to promote safe roads for
commercial vehicles and the motoring public. MMTA can assist
you in complying with relevant federal, state and local regulations
before it's too late.
If you are not already a member, I encourage you to join MMTA.
As the state affiliate of the American Trucking Associations, MMTA
distributes valuable semi-monthly newsletters via email or hard
copy. MMTA events provide excellent networking opportunities,
and our forthcoming member directory and online buyers guide give
valued suppliers an opportunity to tap into this extensive market.
Many members find that MMTA benefit programs enable them to ensure
compliance and save money.
I'm grateful to our past chairmen for the foundation they laid.
MMTA has helped Boyle Transportation become safer and more
profitable. Let it do the same for you.
