TWIC IMPLEMENTED IN PORT OF BOSTON: Below please find a notice from the Federal Register to all MMTA Members

"This Notice informs owners and operators of facilities located within
Captain of the Port Zones Boston, Northern New England, and
Southeastern New England that they must implement access control procedures utilizing TWIC no later than
October 15, 2008.
DATES: This Notice is effective May 7, 2008.
Therefore, as of October 15, 2008, persons without TWICs may not be granted unescorted access to secure areas of regulated facilities. The Facilities which MASSPORT owns or operates to which the requirement applies are the Paul W. Conley container terminal, the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal, Boston Autoport, and the East Boston Shipyard
If you have a Massport ID Badge, you will still need it to get on the facilities.
When you have the TWIC, please notify the Massport Police Badge office so that they may update your records. All Massport ID badges will expire on 14 October at 2359 hours, regardless of printed expiration date unless the holder has a TWIC and has updated their ID Records.
